Anagen phase: During this phase, hair follicles are actively proliferating, and hair grows rapidly. Both the hair shaft and follicle are intact. The melanin at the hair root absorbs heat and destroys nearby stem cells, making this the optimal time for laser hair removal.
Catagen phase: Lasting about 2-3 weeks, hair follicle proliferation ceases, and hair growth stops. Melanin at the hair root gradually diminishes, and follicle cells begin to apoptose. At this point, there is less melanin near the stem cells. Hair in this phase can still be removed with Trident laser hair removal.
Telogen phase: Lasting about 3 months, the hair follicle enters a resting state. The hair bulb gradually detaches from the follicle, and the hair prepares to shed. There is almost no melanin near the hair follicle stem cells, making this a phase where laser hair removal is ineffective.
